Twitter St. Cloud State University issued a safety alert Thursday after offices at Centennial Hall were broken into before Christmas and textbooks were stolen.
Trim molding was removed from windows of office doors in four offices and the glass removed, which resulted in the installation of tamper-resistant screws on Dec. 24, according to Miles J. Heckendorn III, St. Cloud State University public safety director.
On Wednesday, it was reported another office in Centennial Hall had been entered in the same way with the door sustaining damage and a textbook stolen; on Thursday, it was reported someone had attempted to enter an office in Headley Hall the same way, according to the safety alert
St. Cloud Police Department is investigating and St. Cloud State has increased Public Safety patrols while the exterior doors to the halls are being secured earlier each day over the break.
Anyone with information about the burglaries should call police at 251-1200 or SCSU Public Safety at 308-3333.
